             Lester Park & Charlie's Place
was donated to the city by Maxine Hollister Lester, a long time resident of Wills Point and champion of children in need.  In recognition of her efforts on behalf of the youth of Van Zandt county, Mrs. Lester was named 2005 Wills Point “Citizen of the Year,” 1985 Wills Point “Woman of the Year”, and also received the “Kiwanis Service to Youths” award in 2003.
Lester Park & Charlie's Place is a 73 acre public park with large brick meeting facility located just south of Highway 80 on FM 2965 in Wills Point.  The area is used as a facility for baseball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Citizens, the Tractor Club, the Wills Point Youth Soccer Association as well as many others, and is still in the process of being developed.
Boy Scout Troop #381 recently planted multiple crape myrtles donated by the Terrell Wal-Mart. The WPYSA planted twenty-one live oaks on the sidelines of the soccer fields at the park in honor of a former coach, the late Wynne Monning. A flag pole was also donated to Lester Park by the Monning family.

March, 2007, the community built Lester Park Playground. The Playground was built for the children of our community.

Bruce Park -  In 1848, a man named William Wills, the namesake of our city, was the first settler to come to this area after Texas was annexed into the United States. He settled on what was then titled “Government Vacant Land” owned by the state and obtainable by settlers living on a tract for 3 successive years. Wills built his home, a wood cabin, at the point of timber between the Sabine and Trinity rivers. The original Wills Cabin has since been relocated to Bruce Park at 2nd and Commerce St.

In 1991, Veterans Memorial Park was established by the American Legion Post 303 and VFW Post 7837 to honor the men and women who live or have lived in the Wills Point area. Today, the Park is undergoing a major renovation. An increase in park size has been approved by the City Council. Under the direction of VFW Post 7837, a 105 MM Howitzer cannon has recently been added and a M60 tank has been ordered. The park will have new lighting, benches, and will be enclosed with decorative fencing.
